WellWhisker (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use the WellWhisker application (the “App”), available on the web, iOS, and Android.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and an encrypted password. We use Supabase Authentication for secure account management.
Pet Profile Data: You may provide information about your pet including name, type (dog/cat), breed, age, weight, food sensitivities, and health conditions. This information is used solely to personalize the app experience.
Usage Data: We collect data about how you use the App, including food scans performed, wellness logs recorded, features accessed, and general interaction patterns. This helps us improve the service.
Images: When you use the food scanner or mood check features, images are processed by AI to analyze pet food labels or your pet's condition. Images are processed in real-time and are not stored permanently. Images are not used for training AI models.
Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version, browser type, and general location (country-level) to optimize the App experience and provide region-appropriate content.
Push Notification Data: If you enable push notifications, we store a subscription endpoint to deliver notifications. You can opt out at any time in your account settings.
Payment Information: If you subscribe to WellWhisker Pro, payment is processed by Apple (for iOS in-app purchases), Google Play (for Android in-app purchases), or Stripe (for web subscriptions). We do not directly collect, store, or have access to your credit card number, bank account details, or other financial information. We receive only a confirmation of your subscription status.
We use your information to:
• Provide and personalize the WellWhisker App experience
• Generate AI-powered educational nutrition and wellness information for your pet
• Send care reminders and notifications you have opted into
• Process subscriptions and manage your account
• Improve our services, fix bugs, and develop new features
• Communicate with you about your account or service updates
• Comply with legal obligations
WellWhisker uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI's API) to process pet health and nutrition queries. When you use features like the food scanner, mood check, wellness log, or nutrition guide, your pet's profile data and your inputs are sent to the AI service to generate responses. These inputs are processed in real-time and are not used to train AI models. The AI provides educational information only and does not provide veterinary diagnoses or medical advice.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, each of which is necessary to operate the App:
Supabase: Database and authentication provider. Stores your account data, pet profiles, and app data securely.
OpenAI: AI processing provider for generating educational pet wellness content. Data is processed in real-time and not retained for model training.
Apple (App Store / StoreKit): Processes in-app purchases and subscriptions on iOS. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat: Subscription management service that coordinates in-app purchases across platforms. Receives your anonymous user ID and subscription status. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Stripe: Payment processor for web subscriptions. We do not store credit card information. Stripe handles all payment data directly. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Vercel: Hosting provider that processes web requests and serves the App.
Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the App in aggregate. This collects anonymized usage data such as pages visited, session duration, and device type. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser extension.
Meta Pixel: We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on our web platform to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. This may collect data about your interactions with our website. You can manage your ad preferences through Facebook's Ad Settings.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication via Supabase, row-level security policies on our database, and access controls. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your account and pet data for as long as your account is active. Care reminders and health check history are stored to provide you with historical data. If you delete your account through the App (Account Settings → Delete Account), we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytics purposes.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Portability: Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format
• Opt-out: Opt out of push notifications, email communications, or marketing at any time
• Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
• The right to know what personal information is collected, used, and shared
• The right to delete personal information held by us
• The right to opt out of the sale of personal information
• The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights
We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data based on the following legal bases:
• Contract: To provide you with the App and its features
• Consent: For push notifications, email marketing, and analytics
• Legitimate interest: To improve our services and prevent fraud
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Data may be transferred to the United States where our servers and service providers are located, protected by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
WellWhisker is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@wellwhisker.app and we will promptly delete that information.
WellWhisker uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We also use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel for usage analytics and advertising measurement on our web platform. The native iOS and Android apps do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the App or sending you an email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of WellWhisker after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
